Star Lyra

Astrology 85

Since Lyra has always been considered part of the constellation Carina, there are no mythological or astrological explanations associated with Lyra. It was not until the French astronomer Nicolas-Louis Delacaire in 1752 that the constellation Carina was subdivided into Lyra (the bottom of the ship), Puppis (the stern) and Vela (the sail), and it was now known as the Compass. A subordinate partition of Carina. Carina represents the ship that Jason brought back the Golden Fleece from Gorchis, said to be the first ship ever built.

Astrological influence of the entire constellation Carina (Lyra): According to Ptolemy, these bright stars were similar to the influence of Saturn and Jupiter. Lyra is said to bring prosperity in trade and navigation, and enhances mental and spiritual strength, but it has also been observed to be associated with incidents of drowning, a notable example of which is Shelley's Astral Chart, in which Lyra occupies The 8th house, and contains the Sun, Venus and Uranus. Drowning is especially a concern when Saturn is in opposition to the Moon in Lyra. Perhaps it is because of thissign that Virgo, especially the first decan, is often associated with drowning.
